Take a look at this

An ambitious new blog has begun. It is written by Bryan Kleiner. The blog is going to focus on essays written about the history of Allentown.

Looks like the Canal Towpath has been repaired and the Canal itself is refilling. I'll have some pictures and a full story tomorrow.

Forgive me for the short post, I am having some technical difficulties with youtube and a video that I want to load.

Thanks for the report, as one who has walked, biked and fished along the canal for 40 years it is good to know that this local historical treasure has been repaired.

When was the canal fixed? Who did all that work? This is great if it is true.

How come this important trail is not part of the trails plan? What about trail heads to the tow path?

Including in the trails plan, according to the last meeting, was a new trail to connect the D+L towpath from Canal Park through Kimmet's Lock, eventually meeting up with the northern part of the D+L in Hanover Township.

What a shame the canal wasn't cleaned up before it was refilled. How come?
