Tonight: Trails Meeting

Hello Readers

I wanted to remind all of you that tonight at 7 O'Clock at the Allentown Public Library, the latest in a series of public meeting regarding the trail network study that has recently reached draft stage will be taking place.

As of late, the issue has become one of slight contention in the blogosphere and I myself am looking forward to having some questions answered. I am hoping to see a big turn out for the event, and I would love the chance to meet any of you who read my blog.

Come out if you can, come out if you have questions or opinions, or just come out to see what's going on. If you have any questions, leave a comment.

See you at the Library.

(South Mountain Video will have to wait for tomorrow)

Andrew you know it's not "slight contention". Saying that is not entirely honest. Your readers, I beleive, expect more from you . Here's what I know; you are very bright. You are very talented. You are very hard working. You have all the makings of a leader. Tommorow night your readers will see how much integrity and courage you have. I wish you the best.

It is not an issue in the blogisphere young sir. It is an issue in the real, natural world, you claim to care so much about. I am old now. I can not beleive what I see being done to our sacred, beautiful parks. I am very sad to see what has happened to the creek and the park.

You people are all nuts. You expect Andrew to tow your line of crazy? Sorry, he is a sane & rational person and knows how to form his own opinions rather than jumping on the bandwagon of yesterday-worship. Andrew Kleiner has attended meetings on the trails, and read the plan. Can you say the same? No, you just believe everything you read on the molovinsky blog and jump to conclusions.

Yes, I for one have read the draft plan. It calls for cement or asphalt paving inside the parks. This has nothing to do with yesterday. It has to do with protecting the parks today and for tomorrow. Those who have been readers of this blog know what positions Andrew has taken. It is Andrews peragative if he choses to change his mind. Andrew knows about LEED and about impermable surfaces and runoff from asphalt. What does this have to do with some other blogger, good, bad, or indifferent? Certainly Andrew can and will form his own opinion. Allow this reader the same consideration. As a life long environmentalist and scientist, I am neither crazy, or crazy about this plan at this stage and in this cities economic environment. There are other pressing issues to attend to with limited budgets and staffing constraints. Just one citizens informed opinion.

what does asphalt trails in the park have to do with some republican blogger? andrew gets to do whatever he wants, just like everyone else. sure,i hope andrew wants to prevent blacktop crews paving trails in the parks. but its his call man. im too young to be part of any yesterday worship and im not too into republican blogs.

I try not to comment on this blog often. Andrew is my brother, and being such, I don't want to come off in the wrong way. After reading this commentary, and seeing how people perceive this blog, I must add an opinion.

Unlike any of this blog's readers, I live with and go to the parks with Andrew. This blog was never meant to be a platform for opinions and anger. It is here to show us the parks, and remind us that they are there for our use. Andrew is an observer. His pictures are here to show us the parks, and his words compliment the pictures. Of course he has opinions, and he has shared them with his readers. However, it is has never nor ever will be his job to speak for those too lazy to speak for themselves. All of the people who have problems with this plan need to be at this meeting and need to speak for themselves. Never rely on someone else to do your work for you. I'm sure Andrew will listen to the presentation, and if he finds problems with it he will speak. Otherwise he cannot be expected to represent you. If you have problems with paved walkways, stand up and say that.

I look to this blog to see our parks in a way I cannot. Andrew provides insight and science that gives me more of an education and appreciation for our park system. I do not come here to bicker or quarrel about paved pathways and evil bikers. I will continue to read his blog because I get something from it. For that, I thank him. I hope the people who choose to leave biting commentary understand the dedication and work it takes to make this blog.

If you want to fight and argue there are plenty of local blogs that specialize in that. If you want to enjoy our parks, understand them, and have a renewed appreciation you've come to the right place.

I'm one of those on the yesterday worship bandwagon I guess because I am old enough to remember when the Little Lehigh was running strong and clear and people came from all over the state and beyond to fish for native trout. I dont need any computer to tell me that paving trails inside the park stinks. If that makes me crazy,so be it. By all means, you all do what you want.

Mr. Kleiner and Brian, relax,no need to get defensive. Andrews doing fine. So you get one or two assholes commenting on the site. One guy says nasty things about bike riders. So what. Big deal. It goes with the territory. 95% of comments on REMEMBER are constructive. I don't hear anyone at all saying Andrew should speak FOR them. No one is asking Andrew to do work for them. A couple of commenters are looking to Andrew for some kind of leadership, thats a complement. People love the parks and are passionite about how the parks are treated. You shocked? Please don't insult Andrews readers, this trails plan is not about Molavinsky's blog. Give people who love the parks more credit than that. Andrew does. Andrew has long ago moved past simple observation Brian. There's a little heat in the kitchen. I bet Andrew can take it.

Bryan, people will fight to protect the parks. You got trouble with that, T.S. And exactly who are you calling lazy? I'm not hearing that at all. See you tonight.

sorry to be replying a day late. neither i or my blog is republican. i do advocate for the historical park system, because frankly, it was much nicer than what we have now. what looks like a swamp at disc golf hole #1 by robin hood, is actually a beautiful stone lined spring pond, (as in rose gardens) which has been allowed to grow over.
andrew and i talked last evening after the meeting. i believe we agree to disagree. like his brother, i too appreciate this blog.
i will also post this comment on the current post
