Cedar Creek Parkway Construction: 4 -BIG Updates
Journeying down to CBP to check on the construction today I was greeted with a pleasant surprise. All of the excess stone had been removed from the pond beds and all the stone work had been finished and the pond beds were smoothed out and fixed up.
There were new workers down here today.
I spoke with one of the gentleman and asked him when his work would be finished. He told me: "Today." I then asked when he thought the ponds could be refilled and he responded with: "Tonight, its up to the city." I am not sure what the next step is for the city but it looks like the ponds will be ponds again very soon. The work done looks beautiful. I am excited to see the area once the water returns.
The largest pond was still being worked on during my visit:
The edge has been refinished and again, it looks great.
Good job. It looks like our cow is going to his marine view back soon.

once again i must apologize for not waving the flag. your photo's clearly show that they're attempting to fortify the over dug walls by ramming and compacting ground up to the base. (over digging done by city, not contractor.) notice the truck lettering doesn't mention stone pointing. previous to this botched job the mortar joints didn't extend over the stone, just between it. next time the mortar will not be able to be chipped away without damaging the stones. overall a horrendous job, the ponds were better off with the silt.
The cow looks more like a bull.
Which is what many people think this project is.
Or, perhaps more accurate, what a bull leaves behind.
If I wanted to buy the bull, how much would it cost me?
Isn't there a rainforest in South America you could be saving or something besides Cedar Beach?
I'm certainly no contractor, but the ponds sure do look very nice to me. A lot deeper in the center, that's for sure!
I can't say I'm too disapproving of this portion of the improvements. I'm not too sure about the additional upgrades, but I'm waiting to see after it's all done and whether it holds up over the winter months. If so, this looks like an enhancement. This one doesn't appear to be invasive like those planned for on the other side of Ott St.
LVCI,
Yeah I am not a contractor or a mason myself, but I do think it looks great. I am really excited to see them fill them back up. I'd love to be there to watch.
