Cedar Creek Parkway Construction: 3 -Major Updates
This afternoon I discovered the gate to the Old Fashioned Garden blocked with an orange fence. The garden itself has had a large grass path way in its center dug up, as well as the area around the fountain.
It would appear that this is where a stone pathway will be laid. If that is the case, I think this path will be a nice addition to the garden and will allow handicap access to the entire area, once a ramp is installed. It looks like the path will continue into the Rose Gardens, although work there looks as if it is just beginning.
Down in the reflecting ponds I saw many workers chipping, resealing, and working away. Their progress continues to be noticeable and the work is coming along nicely.
By the way, despite construction, the Old Fashioned Gardens look beautiful this summer(I hope further construction keeps this example):

UPDATE: I was informed that this particular construction is for the laying of new infrastructure, not the paths. The paths are however, coming soon.

the excavation appears too shallow for infrastructure, such as water or sewage, and too wide for electric, sure looks like path footings, especially going completely around the fountain. perhaps, like the EAC, you're on the need to know basis. besides the previous political snark, as usual, you continue to produce excellent documentation on our park system
odd time of year to dig up the old fashion garden, prime bloom period? shows total disregard for the purpose of the garden, and bureaucratic obsession with project. wonder if it's a reaction to increased scrutiny of the proposal?
I do think it looks like path footing but I have been assured it isn't. I guess we will see and thank you.
